Orca Software For Windows enables IT pros to automate and standardize software installation. This course introduces software customization concepts through the use of Orca to ease software installations for organizations of any size.
Orca supports a growing number of speech systems and synthesizers. These include GNOME-speech, Emacspeak, and an experimental backend for Speech Dispatcher.
Keyboard Access
Keyboard access can be achieved with Orca Software For Windows using a variety of keyboard shortcuts and commands. Orca supports both the desktop layout (Desktop) and laptop keyboard layout.
If you're using the Laptop layout, Orca provides a special "keypad Enter" key binding to obtain information about the object that has focus and window title. This feature can also be used to display the status bar if one is present.

Text Attributes
The Text Attributes page in Orca Software For Windows enables you to customize the types of information that Orca speaks about an object. This includes the names of attributes, whether Orca should speak them, and when they should be spoken.
For example, you can tell Orca to present information about the font type and style of an element, and whether Orca should speak the name of that element. You can also set the order in which Orca speaks these attributes.

You can also add or edit your own custom pronunciation dictionary entries for Orca. This is done through the Application-specific Settings dialog that is launched when you give an application focus.
Key Bindings
Orca Software For Windows offers a variety of key bindings to assist users in working with applications. These include flat review and where am I features that allow users to navigate applications by command, enabling them to explore a window without actually tabbing around its interface.
Orca also has an application switcher that allows users to change between open applications in a logical manner. This feature is available on both Unity and GNOME shell.

Learn Mode
Orca Software For Windows has a learning mode that lets you quickly study vocabulary without it affecting your review queue. It's a great way to learn new words and practice your short-term memory skills.
It's also a good way to test your overall comprehension of the material. In this mode, Orca announces each keystroke that you type along with any associated Orca command.
Learn Mode is also very useful for determining the best learning style for each student. For example, if a student prefers long-form text and doesn't do well in lectures, they may find it easier to meet with their professor and review the topics that they're having trouble with.
